Admission Requirements
At UNC there is a lot of competition. There is only a 33% acceptance rate. While evaluating the application, the selection committee look at traits such as responsibility, compassion, etc. High SAT(1790-2090) and ACT(27-32) are helpful when applying, along with an above average GPA.
Core/Basic studies required
The classes that are required for UNC includes:
Honor programs
UNC offers 160 honors courses that are called Honors Carolina. Only 10% are involved with this program. There is no application process to join Honors Carolina. Students are chosen to be in those classes.
Tutoring Programs
If tutoring by appointment, you can have up to 3 sessions every week. There are also peer tutors. These are students at the top of the class and there are no appointments needed. Internship Opportunities
At UNC, interning can be done during the semester or in the summer. Most programs have interning as a requirement. There is also interning opportunities abroad. The issue with interning is finding a temporary housing in the city students are staying in.
Average Years in college
It usually takes about four years to get a degree. Some people have to take an extra year if the requirements are not finished. About 77% of the students at UNC finish all of the requirements within four years.

- Foundations Quantitative reasoning: which is MATH 231 and a choice of MATH 232; COMP 110,116; STOR 155 or 215
- Approaches: Physical and life sciences: CHEM 101 and CHEM 101L
- Free electives to accumulate 123 academic hours
- At the least, a C or higher in Biology courses. Only Biology courses count toward the major that can fulfill the requirement ( BIOL 101 does not count toward the requirement)
